Commercial Cooking Equipment Field Service Technician Job in USA – APPLY NOW

The work of a commercial cooking equipment field service technician involves keeping restaurants, hotels, hospitals, and other commercial kitchens up and running smoothly. As a field service technician, you’ll be on the front lines troubleshooting and repairing all sorts of appliances like ovens, fryers, ranges, dishwashers, and more. Here’s a glimpse into what a typical day may look like:

Start of Shift

You arrive at the shop in the morning to check your schedule for the day. You see you have several service calls lined up at various customer locations. Before heading out, you do a final inventory check of your truck stock to ensure you have all the necessary tools and parts for any repairs that may come up.

Onsite Service Calls

Your first call is to a busy hotel kitchen. When you arrive, the head chef explains their steamer isn’t generating enough pressure. You pop open the unit and diagnose a clogged steam valve. A quick replacement gets them up and running again in no time.

Next up is a restaurant that says their fryer isn’t heating properly. After testing voltages and inspections, you discover a faulty heating element that needs swapping out. A couple hours later the fryer is crisping foods like new.

Customer Support

Satisfied customers are important, so you take time to explain the issues, and solutions and answer any other questions. Proper training on equipment use and maintenance tips helps prevent future problems down the road too.

End of Day

By the late afternoon, you’ve completed your scheduled calls for the day. Back at the shop, you fill out work orders and restock any parts you used from the truck. Finishing up paperwork, inventory and preparing for tomorrow’s jobs wraps up your day as a commercial cooking equipment field service technician.
